The Interconnection of Medicine and Food
Not long ago, I received a call from my brother who had just returned from a doctor's appointment. He was prescribed Voltaren for inflammation and paracetamol for pain relief. In a moment of hesitation, he expressed, “I don’t like taking medicine.” While I understood his reluctance, I felt compelled to explain a different viewpoint.
The Ecosystem of Health
We were created in a world that functions as an ecosystem, where food, water, and medicine all play an essential role in our survival and well-being. We eat to fuel our bodies, we drink to stay alive, and sometimes, we need medicine to help our bodies heal. Saying you don't like medicine is a bit like saying you don't like to eat.
The Natural Origins of Medicinal Remedies
Many medicines come from natural sources: aspirin, for example, comes from willow bark, and metformin comes from goat's rue. Even coffee, essential for many mornings, contains caffeine—a natural stimulant also used in medicine. Medicine is not the enemy. Used correctly and with knowledge, it is just as important as the food we consume. So, I asked my brother: If your body needs help to heal, why not give it the necessary tools?
